A crowd of dignitaries saw the dedication of one of Dunn's restored historical landmarks--the old First Citizens clock--and heard the news that a new First Citizens bank would eventually follow.

Executive Vice Chairman of First Citizens Banks Frank Holding was also on hand with current and retired bank employees. The bank executive said he was pleased with the clock's restoration.

"I'm thrilled with it. I don't know how they could have done it any better," Mr. Holding said.

About 50 people showed up at the dedication. Refreshments and music were provided.

The clock, built by the now defunct Mc Clintock Company of Minnesota, was restored by David Pendley of Hickory.
